The Courtyard is a connected open-air walkway and green between SMA Living and Soowees Academy. The long rectangular courtyard is hugged by thatched-covered organic walkways along the east, west, and north sides, remaining open leading up to the Wikiup & Wolves statue in front of Soowees Academy. Uncovered walkways edge the interior of the covered walkways and exterior of the courtyard, speckled with benches for sitting. Small tiled Mediterranean-style gazing fountains are cozied into the corners of the courtyard, the northwest and southeast ones empty and with small waterfalls, and the northeast and southwest ones containing floating water plants and used for collecting and filtering rainwater into the underground aquifers beneath school grounds. The interior is lined with patches of lush grass, desert blooms, and succulents with a beautiful sand garden in the northern half for relaxing and de-stressing (complete with tools). There is a large central circular step fountain, reached by walkway, separating the two spaces in the courtyard (sand garden and grassy area), popular among students and staff alike as an after-school meeting place and spot for dates and picnics on-grounds, also popular for making wishes with different coins.
Please enjoy!
