Yes, “NPC” - non-playable character. This, however, is almost a misnomer: these characters can actually be played, though by default they are not. As such, I have compiled this list (and may add to it) in order to
[/span] as offerings for those new to roleplaying or simply writers unsure of where to start.[/div]
[/ul] If interested in playing any of these characters, please send Risa or Ish a PM and we will get back to you ASAP. Some bios for each character are posted below with more coming soon! Thank you and happy writing!

Prakash is Soowees's resident magical/agricultural engineer. His knowledge and creativity are boundless, much like his energy and enthusiasm for his field of study (pun fully intended).
Prakash sees the world in about of a different light, and seeks to combine traditional agricultural knowledge, ancient magical knowledge, and modern altruism to create and maintain magically-sustainable food crops. His aim is to lessen the school's environmental footprint and impact on the soil, by providing nutrients and other growth-supporting necessities via a combination of non-magic technology and magical engineering.
However, the enthusiasm Prakash has for his work is not usually found outside of it much. He enjoys interacting with other creatives and can easily recognize and tune into other people's passions (and thereby also become, however briefly, empassioned just by listening or viewing someone's work), but is timid and fearful of mockery (though being further along in life has shed some of his fears and lead into acceptance, it still causes a twinge of anxiety or two).
Prakash is known to temper himself until he can hardly stand it much longer, and then he finds he absolutely must burst into conversation at either Ishki Ahmed or Doctor Jadu, both of whom are very understanding.
Prakash is of average height and build, with golden brown skin, dark brown eyes tucked behind thick glasses, and dark brown curly messy hair. He also wears a lot of brown, and claims it's to hide the dirt from the fields. He does, however, clean up very nicely on holidays and special events and has been known to shockingly woo a few people, though why things have never worked out for him are a mystery (with rumors swirling of course that he is too married to his work to love anything else, which are deeply hurtful to him though he lets no one know).

Sanjai Khan, son to Ravi and 'heir' to the family business, should he want it, is very different from his father. While he has Ravi's brute honesty (and handsome looks), he does not also have his tact, and is freqeuntly considered, for lack of better words, a jerk. He stands at 5'8", but is very stocky from playing very physical sports.
Sanjai is a typical first-generation american child, in that he does not push himself to assimilate or do what others want him to simply because they want him to do it. He took on a more american attitude of questioning his family as authority, and pushing the envelope on what is and isn't 'acceptable behavior'.
He likes the finer things in life his father's shop has afforded him, and Sanjai is not shy about driving his fast car through the nearby mountains, or wearing his expensive clothes (whether another label or his father's handiwork). He does frequently advertise his family's shop, and will cashier and close up, bringing in a lot od younger business, and this makes it difficult for his father to get or stay angry at him for long.
Recently, Sanjai has tempered his reckless behavior nominally to soccer (he hates calling it that instead of proper football). He is even starting to work more with his father instead of against him. Sanjai has even expressed interest in designing a small label to be sold in his father's shop, for which his father is elated. And secretly, so is Sanjai.

Ravi Khan is the owner of Khan Robes in Magoohah Square.
Ravi is a handsome middle-aged 40-something, with thick salt-and-pepper ringlets and matching goatee, olive skin, and kind brown eyes. He is also a touch flirty, though he states often he feels he must be charming to sell global garments in a small wizarding town in America. He's tall, about 5'11", and broad shoulders, though his frame is otherwise considered slight.
Ravi has a pleasing disposition, and is frequently seen smiling and laughing joyfully. In the shop, he is deferring and soothing. Outside of it, he can be brusque and forward, but all as friendship allows. He seeks to help better those around him, frequently with brute honesty - but only when welcomed. Never would unwarranted words pass his lips.
He has kind advice and stern admonitions for his friends, but Ravi is the ultimate listener as well, and can provide himself as a good confidant when a situation warrants it. And though he would never tell, he is frequently sought as an oathkeeper as well, all for his kind and truthful disposition.

Makoto Haruka Iwata is a young gender -nonconforming Japanese woman (first generation immigrant child). She is 24 years old, tall, and has a willowy build. She has a pixie cut that makes her attractive to many, and that's fine by her as she is attracted to all genders and very comfortable with it.
Makoto is very blunt and has no understanding of subtlety, and, in fact, many subtle social cues are oftentimes lost on her. She often assumes certain flower bouquet choices are exclusively for someone's romantic interest and will hound the individual with jibes and joking questions about assumed romantic interest unless told otherwise (which can be both endearing and downright annoying). She also loves to get tp know people, and frequently asks about how someone's friends and family are; she's very much in-the-know without being rude or a gossip. Because of this, she also knows her clients well and can make very fitting bouquets to order, or make certain to set aside someone's favorite flowers at special times throughout the year.
Iwata Flowers is much like any other florist shop, excepting that the displays use magical plants lieu of most non-magical flora. Glowing flowers, gold flowers, special plants that burn with an amber light under the full moon alone; these are the bouquets sold right along more 'traditional' roses, daisies, carnations, and sunflowers. There are also non-traditional non-magical arrangements with simpler flowers like morning glory and moonflower, or even others like hydrangea, azalea, cattail, lotus, reeds, or bamboo.
The shop itself is nice and sunny, with a large greenhouse to grow many varieties in-house as year-round specialties. The main part of the shop is open and has wide walkways for all types of mobility needs, and arrangements are kept at a nominal height out of reach of young children but within easy reach for adults. Most displays are on stepped white quartz tables, though some hang artfully from the ceiling or are displayed on tall pedestals (set into the ground with concrete so as not to be tipped accidentally).
The building itself is an old renovated warehouse, with plentiful adequate lighting from the exquisite (chandeliers) to the industrial chic (naked bulbs with Edison filaments). Wood beams and vaulted ceilings make the shop feel open and airy, and large sun lights allow in beautiful views year round. It's treat during a storm especially.
There are a few private rooms near the back, between the shop front and the greenhouse, for private appointments for consultations on events (birthdays, weddings, funerals). The rooms are cozy, with fireplaces for extra warmth in the winter, overstuffed reclining chairs, and fluffy couches with loads of pillows in all sorts of fine fabrics. In contrast, the walls are painted bricks and the floors are shimmering stone draped with tufted sheepskin blankets.
A seeming world of contrasts and duality inhabits the boutique on the edge of Mahgoohah Square. Makoto takes great pride in making the shop details work together for the comfort of everyone entering the doors, and she works tirelessly in keeping it up.

Peter O'Holi is a proud Afro-Cubano man. He focuses on his physical abilities, since he is a mailman that prefers travelling primarily by foot (but will use the broom to change blocks). He eats a hardy breakfast every early morning before setting out for pickup at 0800 (He keeps 24 hour time, easier to track and remember daily events).
But Peter also has a softer side, and, if caught in the right mood, may share his writings and musings. He will slowly open up to nonjudgmental people about his philosophizing & theorizing, which he keeps close to his chest for how he was teased as a child. Hypermasculinity has been destructive in his life too many times to count. He was called a "sissy" as a kid, treated poorly by both of his parents, and generally ignored or taunted daily depending on the whims of fate and luck.
Peter does not open quickly, nor take kindly to prying. He keeps his business to himself generally, and doesn't weigh in on many things (though he has many opinions and much knowledge to share) simply for fear of being taunted again. So he keeps quiet and does his work.
He is friendly with some neighbors, even laughing and smiling with a select few, but it is the local Spell Structure & Casting professor who has a firm grasp on his attention and interest the most. The two are very rarely spotted together, as both are very careful, but catch either of them with spare time and you'll find them going through boxes of letters they've written back and forth.
The few local citizens who have a keen enough eye to catch the loving exchanges wish to see the two together more openly someday.
